Decisions to make early
- Fixtures and valves chosen, with spec sheets, before rough-in
- Shower valve type: pressure-balance or thermostatic, number of outlets
- Tub type and weight (freestanding tubs may need floor checks)
- Moving fixtures: drain slope and venting may limit where they go
- Water heater capacity for large tubs and multiple showerheads
The plumbing sequence
Plan
Review fixtures, layout and permits with your designer or contractor.
Rough-in
Supply, drain and vent lines and valve bodies set before walls close.
Inspection
Rough-in inspected where a permit applies.
Trim-out
Fixtures, trim and appliances installed after tile and cabinets.
Test and hand over
Everything tested, finish protected, documentation provided.
Protecting finishes
Stone counters, custom vanities and new tile are easily marked. Our plumbers protect surfaces before working and handle designer fixtures carefully.
Working with your contractor
We work as the plumbing contractor on remodels led by homeowners, general contractors or designers. We'll coordinate schedules and give a written scope for the plumbing portion.
