Public water in Naples is treated and tested by the utility that serves your address. We don't make claims about "bad Naples water." Questions about what's in your water are best answered by your utility's own report, and by testing if you have a specific concern.
Find your water quality report
- City of Naples Annual Water Quality Report: for homes served by City of Naples Utilities.
- Collier County 2025 Drinking Water Quality Report: for homes served by the Collier County Water-Sewer District.
Not sure which serves you? Your water bill names the utility. Their service territories are different.
Health, taste or scale?
Health concerns should start with your utility's report and, if needed, a certified lab test. Taste and odor, often from disinfectant, are commonly addressed with carbon filtration at the kitchen sink or whole house. Scale (white buildup on fixtures, shower glass and tankless heaters) is about hardness and is addressed with softening or scale-reduction systems.
Common systems
| System | What it's typically for |
|---|---|
| Under-sink carbon or reverse osmosis | Drinking and cooking water taste |
| Whole-house carbon filter | Taste and odor at every tap |
| Water softener | Hardness and scale |
| Scale-reduction system | Reducing scale formation without salt |
Any system needs maintenance: filter changes, salt, membrane replacement. We'll explain the upkeep before you choose.
